Keep your teeth and gums healthy with restorative dental care at Clinique Dentaire Dr Alain Quinn in Gatineau. Whether you need a filling, bridge, root canal or gum therapy, our team is here to serve you.
Fillings
When a tooth is damaged or a cavity needs to be repaired, dental fillings are used to restore both the appearance and functionality of the damaged tooth. These fillings can be constructed from composite resin (white fillings). Dental fillings are durable, and can endure many years of use if properly cared for.
Bridges
Dental bridges are used to replace a section of missing teeth. These custom-made, natural-looking restorations are bonded to dental implants or existing teeth to help restore the contour of your smile.
Gum Therapy
Gum (Periodontal) Disease happens when gums and other tissues in your mouth become infected with plaque buildup. If detected in its early stages (Gingivitis), your dentist and dental hygienist will recommend preventive therapy. Otherwise, the type and severity of the disease dictate the course of treatment.
TMJ Disorder Treatment
The temporomandibular joint (or TMJ) connects your temporal bones to your jaw. TMJ disorder can lead to many issues with your facial muscles and jaw, including chronic headaches and pain. Your dentist can detect, diagnose, and provide a treatment plan to help with this common condition.
Root Canals
During a root canal, your dentist will remove diseased nerves tissus from the interior of a tooth. Without this procedure, damaged teeth will die and need to be pulled.
Dentures
Dentures are artificial teeth that replace one or several consecutive missing teeth. They can also replace an entire jaw of missing teeth. With dentures, your face will maintain its proper structure, and you'll be able to talk and eat normally.
- Full Dentures
Otherwise referred to as false teeth, your dentist will use full dentures if an entire jaw is missing teeth. The dentures adhere to their proper place with suction and can be removed for sleeping and cleaning.
- Partial Dentures
If you have more than a few missing teeth, or if your surrounding teeth are not strong enough to hold a bridge in place, your dentist will use partial dentures.
These dentures are comprised of one or more artificial teeth, held in place by clasps fitted to your natural teeth. They can also be removed for sleeping and cleaning. - Implant-Supported Dentures
If not enough gum tissue is present to support and hold full dentures, your dentist may recommend dental implants to support and stabilize dentures. The implants and dentures will be custom-made for a secure, comfortable fit.
